The Biggly Nazis and KKKonfederates should just carry white flags, they were just LOSERS who surrendered. Sad! Imagine how ecstatic those who think tearing down statues will destroy history will be when they discover HISTORY BOOKS!!!!!!

Should we close the Holocaust Museum, the Colosseum in Rome and the Whitney Plantation (slavery museum) too? Neither my, Judge Hinkle‘s nor Miss Daisy‘s comments indicate sympathy to the Nazi or KKK cause - only to their right to free speech, to demonstrate and freedom of expression. A statue does not necessarily imply an endorsement or support of a person or his or her views or actions. And even if it did, it must be considered in the context of history. Not to mention, the overall worth of an individual should not be measured solely by his or her public views on a particular subject, however controversial or unpopular. I am no Confederate scholar, but I am certain that the men whose statutes are at issue should be remembered for their prominence at the time, and their role in the shaping of the history of this nation, for good or for bad. Not to mention, remembering past evils (if one believes that they were) helps prevent them from reoccurring in the future.

Such good Nazi & KKK Sympathizers here. Didn‘t we fight WWII against the Nazi‘s?? Gee, where are all the Hitler, Himmler, and Goerbbels statues in Germany??? And didn‘t the tear down the Stalin statues in Russia??? I see no difference in the Confederate Statues.

How in the heck did the judge‘s posts violate the canon that requires him to act in a way that "promotes public confidence in the independence, integrity, and impartiality of the judiciary", particularly when he was referring to events outside his jurisdiction? Who is to say that the majority of the public do not agree with him? I for one, certainly do. His integrity is not diminished because of that comment, and the rule of impartiality only has application to cases pending before a judge. Judges opine all the time about issues that do not involve cases before them - from abortion to the death penalty to the Second Amendment. The decision to suspend him, and no doubt ultimately compel his resignation, is egregious, disconcerting and unacceptable! If anything, it is THAT decision and Judge Blum‘s comments/action that undermine the Judicial Canons!

Jim Hinkle is a fine man, lawyer and judge. I have known him for 30 years and there is not a bigoted bone in his body. I expect he is better off than to continue in a position in a world willing to persecute others simply for a difference of opinion.
