We are an IT service provider specializing in Office 365 deployment. We have migrated over 300 companies to Office 365, and 10’s of thousands of users. What we have discovered is that support cost after migrating to office 365 is 50% less than the on-site solutions – provided that you deploy the correct licenses mix. -Deploy windows 10 Pro with the windows 10 E subscription options -Deploy office 365 versions of desktop office (Biz premium, E4 or E5) -Deploy EMS-E3 (or E5 if you have higher compliance needs) for anti-virus -Deploy Advance threat protection (ATP) There is a trade-off of IT service costs versus licenses mix. When you look at the mix of licenses and Staff costs, you will reduce headcount within the IT organization – if you deploy the correct licenses mix. To many IT organization will deploy older copies of word and operating systems; without understanding the ramification of old software on support cost. The cost to support a window 7 device is 2 – 3 x the same application on Windows 10 Pro/E. Add to the older copies of office to the mix, and the support cost is greater. You need to look at your business – and make strategic decision for business growth. Deploy the correct subscription mix and your IT service costs are seriously reduced in a few months.
